Gallon per minute, GPM, is a common way to measure water flow. It can also be used to describe the flow rate of a pump or a nozzle. It is often used in combination with the Head measurement to determine how high a pump can lift water.
This calculator is designed to convert between a number of volume flow rate units including GPM, LPM, Cubic Foot per Second (cfm), Liter Per Minute (l/min), and more. Simply fill in the fields above to convert the unit.
Using this calculator is simple. Just enter a value into the first field, and a different unit in the last field. The calculator will then display the corresponding value in the other field. You can also reset the calculator by clicking on the “reload calculator” button.
One gallon per minute is equal to 3.785411784 liters. You can use this tool to convert between gallons per minute and liters per minute.
How to calculate GPM
To find out how much water is flowing through your bathtub nozzle, get a one gallon container and time how long it takes to fill. Then divide the number of seconds in the timed results by 60 to find out how many gallons are flowing through the nozzle per minute.
You can also use a GPM calculator to find out how much water your showerhead is using. Standard showerheads are typically around 2 gallons per minute, while water-saving showerheads are usually around 1.5 gpm or less. gpm to lpm converter
